Bernie Marren is a startup company veteran and has been president, founder, original investor, or chairman of nearly a dozen companies in the semiconductor, Bluetooth, and GPS industries. He is one of the original members of Band of Angels, one of America’s first organized angel-investment groups. Marren, who studied electrical engineering at IIT, started his career as one of the original employees of Fairchild in 1960. He went on to found four companies, one of which was a NASDAQ IPO. Marren is also the founder of the Semiconductor Industry Association. He is currently the president and chief executive officer of OPTi, Inc. (www.opti.com).
